Being imprisoned in Bangladesh means being exposed to overcrowded prison cells, harassment and corruption. “Prison ministry” provides prisoners with spiritual, legal and financial support. The regular visit to the prison, a prayer said together or the purchase of a bar of soap - all these are ways of support and offer some more dignity to the prisoners. Since their early beginnings in Bangladesh, the Taizé brothers, together with volunteers, have been offering help and support to needy, often innocent prisoners in the Mymensingh district. On request, they also establish a regular contact with the families of the prisoners and act as an interface between the prisoners and the prison staff.
