There are countless broken families in Bangladesh. Poverty, neglect and lack of lack of support cause many marriages to fail. The children often end up on the on the streets or in train stations, where they band together to survive. The Taizé brothers have been working with street children in Mymensingh for a long time. At the Station Club, they find a safe place where they can truly be children, where they are encouraged and receive a regular meal.
For many children, the Station Club is a daily port of call. The slogan of the Station club comes from the writer Tagore: "We are all kings" (and queens, too). Indeed, what is truly royal are the immense joie de vivre and creativity of the children in the clubs.
